V – S01E03 – A Bright New Day

V – S01E03 – A Bright New Day

The Fifth Column “is” the resistance against the visitors including traitors and humans alike. The previous two episodes were somewhat dull because it included a bunch of people who didn’t stand a chance. It’s literally brain candy when they involved the Fifth Column, the very first resistance led by John May could gather an army to fight the Vs. While the Vistors have sleepers with the humans, so does the Fifth Column. There is a Fifth Column member on the mother ship, who kills Erica’s partner after learning she’s part of the resistance.

George Sutton is a human who was directly affected by the Vs’ where they killed his entire family. Ryan who was initially in the Fifth Column branched out and joined forces with Sutton. Unfortunately, it hasn’t worked out because each and every time they are infiltrated by the Vs. Cyrus, who was introduced in episode 2, we learn is a traitor for the Vs. And that he’s been bringing traitors in, in exchange to be “reconnected”. Ryan and Cyrus were talking about how Anna controls the visitors, by giving them the “bliss”.

The Visitors don’t feel the same physical pleasures as we do. I’m very interested to learn how they reproduce with our species or if they do at all? Lisa and Tyler get more involved, but Lisa has end-game. We learn that Lisa is the biological offspring of Anna. Who’s the father? And Lisa said that Tyler would be perfect. Perfect for what? I must admit Lourdes Benedicto is unbelievably hot. Posting a picture of her half-naked doesn’t even do her justice.

The plot behind this episode was an alleged assassination attempt against the Visitors. But we later learn that it was all staged, i mean that was somewhat obvious. The Visitors would never knowingly let themselves be infiltrated. It’s interesting how they said they would be using their own medical services for their own kind. Why would they go out of their way to say that, when the entire thing is staged? Maybe the planted assassin may have had to pull the trigger a few times to get more attention.

All in all this episode got me really excited about V, which is why i wrote this review so quickly. Next week is the last episode for the Fall. V is returning in March, which in my opinion is an epic fail by ABC to have such a huge gap especially with a new series. Do they really want to get it canceled? Apparently the delay is because of the Olympics. The Olympics in my opinion is so overrated; Lost not only got it’s Wednesday slot, but had more viewers than the Olympics. Well aslong as they have the flash back, i guess i’ll follow again in March. But after this episode i think i really will. Episode 4 has to have a mindblowing cliffhanger ending, for viewers to countdown the days till V resumes.
