Terminator Salvation
I found the film to be thoroughly enjoyable. There’s only one WTF moment, where Marcus sees his cyborg body, but this was ruined in the trailer for the film. It was a popcorn blockbuster summer film, and it had an amazing cast to boot. I’m a Christian Bale fanboi, i love his work and what he brings to his films. Common was the worst thing that happen to this film. He can’t act for his life, reminded me of Will.I.Am in X-Men Origins. His opening scene where he asks if his brother is dead, is so unemotional and bland. I gritted my teeth everytime he spoke.
The film is a part of the Terminator franchise, without seeing the previous films you won’t follow along. In this film Connor doesn’t send Reece back, which may mean that in a later film he’ll do it. Marcus donates his heart to Connor, which may give him renewed strength and vigor. We still don’t know how this war is going to end. What we do know is that SkyNet is always one step ahead. They gave the resistance the frequency to find them. The Arnold Schwarzenegger CGI was pretty good (like Beowulf), but over the top. I mean he stood like 7′ tall weighing 500 lbs.
I’m not a big fan of the franchise, i think it’s a cool idea having a machine-human war. Terminator may have been the first introduce this concept, but it’s been revisited and bettered many times. Terminator only has it’s memorable quotes of Arnold saying, “Astalavista Baby & I’ll Be Back”, which is used in pop culture today. Him being the governor means he can’t go back to the films again. Is that a good thing? Yes. Is this a trailer film? Yes. Do you have to watch this? No. But i like Christian Bale? Watch it.
