the next American Idol?

The first time i heard him during Idol’s summer promos i was spell bound. I was like who is this guy? MJ’s Big Blog and VFTW quickly point out that Justin Williams did indeed get into Season 8′s Hollywood round. He was infamous in the group: “White Chocolate” which also featured Matt Giraud & Kris Allen. For me their performance was “the” best and should have advanced everyone. For me this whole Michael Bublé song wasn’t popular until other artist started covering it. For me Adam Lambert first shed light on it, and then we hear Danyl Johnson and now Justin Williams. Kris & Adam Lambert in the FINALS!!

It looks like my power Kris Allen voting paid off last night. For me, it was a given that Adam Lambert didn’t need my votes. But i just can’t bear to listen to Danny Gokey for another week. But who would have thought that a dark horse actually made it this far. Last year we had the ever popular Davids battling it out. But this year it’s really a jaw dropping Final. With a difference of 1 million votes, it’s really a toss-up. At the moment i’m still an Adam Lambert fan, but i’d like to give Kris Allen a fighting chance. Some great performances to night, except the Rwanda performance.

Top 3 – Idol Performances

A very “current” show today, allot of popular songs were picked tonight by both the judges and contestants alike. My favorites were: “One” by Adam Lambert, chosen by Simon Cowell & “Heartless” by Kris Allen chosen by himself. I found the judges to be a more hyperactive then usual. The show did go overtime, and did cut into Fringe’s season finale. All three of them really have a chance to win this whole thing. But it’s going to really come to down the voters. Simon Cowell has made it very clear that he wants to see Adam Lambert win, in every talk show he’s been invited too. I don’t know? Could he be eliminated?

Top 4 – Results Show

An explosive Results Show indeed. A Huge lineup: Daughtry, Paula Abdul & ‘No Doubt. Daughtry performing their new single, ‘No Surprise‘. This single is actually simultaneously being released on iTunes + Radios in the U.S. We also have Paula dancing her song ‘I’m Just Here For The Music‘. And one person gets the pat on the back, and sent home. The whole night is packed into a 1 hour show-stopper.

We start the show with the Ford Music Video. I actually liked this one, not because of the visuals as much, but because of the song, ‘Move Along‘ by American Reject. The Idols sung it well, and i was impressed for the most part. The visuals were o-kay, nothing special. With the limited number of idols left, i saw allot of Danny & Adam in the video. I think i have to watch it over again.

Top 4 Perform – Rock N’ Roll

Slash to mentor the Top 4! I don’t know who Slash is, i haven’t heard music from Guns N’ Roses. It was an awesome episode, i just loved Adam Lambert’s & Kris Allen’s performances. The Adam-Allison duet literally rocked the show. Allot of guitar riffs, and it was really a Rock theme. With past themes like Disco, we had the softer performances but everyone in the Top 4 were at the top of their game.

Top 5 Finalists Perform – Rat Pack Theme !

I’m terribly excited about writing for American Idol. I have so much on my mind when i watch, i just don’t know where to put it. Get ready for a long winded post. This is going to be posted just as soon as the re-encoded HDTV capture comes out so i can add relevant screenshots to the post. Grapevine has it that Paula Abdul leaked out to 105.7FM that Jamie Foxx will be mentoring this week. It’s going to be exciting indeed.
