24, is getting a bit more predictable. There is less action, i think they have exhausted the writers. Jonas Hodges is killed in a car bomb, the way they reported it, sounded like it happened in Iraq or the Middle East. We get a bit of ratio profiling, and Jack gets pulled into the ethical and rational parts of his work. I dislike the way they continously single out the Muslim community, season after season. I know they are an easy scapegoat, but why not surprise us by using the Canadians or the French.

So Jonas Hodges dies, and we have Almeida’s friend dieing as well. Jack’s only hope for finding a lead onto Almeida is through this dieing person. I have a feeling that he’s going to die on them, and then there going to take his cell phone and try calling Almeida. In the hopes of tracking his number, but knowing Almeida he is going to recognize Jack’s voice.

This whole episode was just pure filler, using it to start a better episode? Probably not. The ending wasn’t even a cliff hanger ending. Using the bio-weapon in the subway, will it do maximum damage, but i mean compared to a stadium or an airport? Then again i don’t know how busy the morning rush hour is in D.C. Almeida’s endgame is to push this over the edge, the F.B.I. only has Bauer, and without him they will be lost. Keeping in mind Almeida was only apprehended because of Bauer, without Bauer Almeida would still be out and about. What is Almeida trying to acomplish? He doesn’t even care for money, or is he trying to exploit the vulnerability of the government?

Jack Bauer’s longevity is getting better, i thought he was going to die in a few hours. But according to him he’s going to die in a few days, which only tells us he’s going to live through this season. Or maybe the producers will end the season with him lying lifeless. Knowing FOX, they will probably pull that off. He did do an interview, where he said he might do another season of 24, if the writers can write up something concrete and plausible. We’ll see…

It was a decent episode, not much substance though. Basically were introduced to the new group which will be taking over atleast 4 of the following episodes of 24. Everything went as planned in E20, nothing really went off course. Jack Bauer’s condition spontaneously got better during his interrogation of Jonas Hodges. He got the infamous anonymity agreement, which means that everyone thinks he’s dead. We also see the return of Chloe O’Brian, so the episode does become a bit fun.

Jonas Hodges really had nothing to add, because we already knew everything he said. Except maybe he hyperbolized the false lawyer. The lawyer is somewhat attractive, or atleast Almeida finds her so. Robert Galvez became the typical asset, where they want more and more. Almeida rid us of his, weak character pretty quickly. The way he died wasn’t new, but i don’t recall where i saw that.

Chloe O’Brian sparks allot of anger against her parallel character Janis Gold. Janis is almost an alter ego of Chloe. She throws a fit when she finds out that O’Brian is back, and she’s rendered useless. Season 7 makes us appreciate Chloe more and more, because she shows us the incompetency of the Bureau. Makes CTU look like some über l33t agency. The integration of CTU makes advent 24 viewers feel at home again. Were all a bit separated by all the soft rules and regulations, and we just thirst for more dynamic results. With Jack’s failing health we probably won’t be seeing much of that.

Jack does something absurd where he repeats Palmer’s name, thus showing the deterioriation of his nervous system. This all points to Jack’s certain death at the end of Season 7. They might spontaneosly bring him back like Tony, but i don’t know. How long will Jack take these anti-virals? For another 4 hours? I don’t think so, they have to make some new medication or disguise the stem-cell treatment as an anti-viral and give it to him without his knowledge. Jack is really dieing, and it’s really a matter of time. Or is it?

Coming back to the whole Traitor Tony thing, i’m still speculate. Unfortunate for me, when i was catching up on 24, i stumbled upon a blurb from SkyHD which is a UK broadcasting network’s. This blurb was about 24 and it said that Tony Almeida is a bad guy. So me, watching Season 1 am anticipating Tony to go evil, or show signs of going evil but for the next 6 seasons there’s nothing. Tony is as clean as a whistle, which only begs the question, “is he really on the dark side?”. Yes, he was affected by Michelle’s death but to the extent he wants to kill American civilians? I don’t think so, but i think he’s willing to take collateral damage for a higher purpose. Kill 1, Save 1000? Isn’t that what the film Wanted was trying to say ?

It’s never a dull moment when watching 24, always something new and exciting from FOX’s hit show. I started watching 24 during the holiday season, during that time there weren’t many shows going on and to be honest, there wasn’t much to do. I spent along time with the first season, but the others flew by really quickly to the point it was forgettable.

I’m going to make this recap more brief, but 24 was somewhat predictable earlier on. I really like the government involvement, and it brought a new perspective to national security. Having said that, hats off to the writers for making 24 so intrinsically new each and everytime. Highlights include scenes with the marines, and each season kept getting better and better. The predictability deteriorated as the seasons progressed.

I must say that in Season 7 they pulled out all the stops, it’s absolutely action packed. With an amazing new cast. Talking about casts, i really don’t like it when they add new people because i feel i have to connect to them all over again. But 24 did an excellent job, and brought them upto speed very quickly. The new season is going great, but because Jack Bauer was exposed to a bio-weapon his participation is lacking. But hopefully he’ll go through with the stem-cell treatment and we’ll see him back in action.

I’ll be writing a review for another episode in the morning, it’s Season 7, epsiode 20 – 03:00AM to 04:00AM. E19 ended with Tony Almeida not giving Jack Bauer his anti-viral drugs to keep his symptoms at bay. Either way, if Tony helps Jack and he makes a full recovery, Jack will still use every ounce of his strength to bring Tony to justice; Even if it means killing him. Action packed episode, going to go and watch it!
