So why not throw an extra hour into the mix?

The sixth and final season will run 18 hours, an hour longer than originally announced. This isn’t exactly earth-shattering news, granted, but for “Lost” fans heading into the final lap, every minute counts.

Though the reason for the extra time hasn’t been confirmed, one insider said that the producers felt they had some extra story to tell in the final season. “Lost” starts shooting later this summer.
Explosive season finale for Lost. The show starts off with Jacob, who doesn’t look that auspicious or all-so powerful. Throughout the finale we see how Jacob is connected with the survivors of Flight Oceanic 816. Jacob meets everyone, and either helps them or encourages them. For me Jacob feels like The Observer in Fringe. The season finale ends with parallel events happening 30 years ago and the present. 30 years ago, we have Juliet blowing up the hydrogen bomb and we see a white light and the show ends. In the present, we have Ben stabbing Jacob to death. What is surprising is that we have the corpse of John Locke as well as the one in the flesh. What lies in the shadow of the statue?

Richard says that he is able to live along time, because of Jacob. The show begins with the island dating back to Egyptian times. It is important that 50 years ago that the statue existed. In Season 6 i guess we’ll learn how the statue was destroyed. Lost is just too amazing. It’s interesting how no one pays attention to Miles. Who is probably right, they are going to cause the series of events which will cause the magnetic field which will later force their plan to crash. They aren’t really changing the future, they are just living it the way it’s supposed to be lived. Jack wants to be with Kate, which makes no sense if they are going to land in Los Angeles, they will indeed by strangers.

The relationship between the new people on the island and Richard is wierd. Richard seems to have ventured off the island into possibly Spanish colonies. J.J. Abrams has answered some pretty important questions like who is Jacob. This all powerful person who’s name has been echoed for 5 seasons. Interestingly Abrams also reveals who William Bell is in Fringe. The mystery-man who’s talking to Jacob in the beginning during the 19th century could be the ‘Locke’ in the flesh. He said he found the loop hole, which could have meant they were both some sort of gods. And gods can’t kill each other. I don’t know what to say, another year for Lost? I simply can’t wait!

Lost and maybe Fringe are the only shows that aren’t improvised. The shows are written a long time ago, and just twist and turn within in each other. It’s just amazing, simply amazing story telling. The way they tell the story is just simply epic. This episode surrounds around almost everybody. We begin with Locke helping himself, when he gets sent into the future. How Locke knew? The island told him? The really big question here is, who is Jacob. And how or will John Locke really kill Jacob? I guess all will be revealed in the season finale.

In the past they have brought some surprising people back, like Locke’s father. They continuously show us Christian Sheppard as Jacob, and he’s always there when they need spiritual guidance. Or simply a kick in the right direction, i really think it’s their conscience but for some reason we the viewers see Sheppard. For them they could see something else, i don’t know. Them all marching to see Jacob, this isn’t the first time. John coerced Ben into showing him Jacob, and it ended up being some fake house. Ben kind of re-iterates Rupert’s true longevity. Jacob’s secrecy makes him like an invisible puppet. What’s running through our heads is that Jacob is fake, but with the island it’s just full of surprises. What’s important is that the smoke monster wants John Locke alive, in the form of Ben’s daughter it told Ben not to kill Locke. Rupert doesn’t like the idea of seeing Jacob, and Ben doesn’t either. Jacob seems to be the leverage or the Alpha Male that “the others” use to keep the other’s in order and make purpose.

Back to the past, we have Elloise trying to understand her son’s death and his purpose. She leads Jack, Kate & Syed to the hydrogen bomb. Kate however decides to go and help La Fleur who is also in a heap of trouble. La Fleur gets caught, and makes a deal by telling them BS in return for a ticket on the nuclear submarine with Juliet. Kate is also sent on the submarine. Hurley, Miles & Jin get away, but they are met by Dr. Chan. And after Chan stumbles them on a “who’s the current president?”, they admit they are from the future. Chan gets the women & children off the island.

What Jack is trying to do is, is stop their plane from crashing. If they blow the hydrogen bomb in the swan station, than they will be safe. When they actually got to the bomb (Jughead), Elloise asked a critical question, “what now?”.

The 100th episode of Lost and were back to the heart and meat of Lost this week. In E13 Daniel Faraday returns to the island after an off-camera leave in E1. But he returns with a bang by telling us what he really knows about the island.

An intense and somewhat informative episode of Lost. The return of Daniel Faraday isn’t necessarily a bombshell. With the previous episode we saw that La Fleur is in trouble because he has ‘ ‘. Radzinsky is also problematic because he opened fire on Daniel, Jack and Kate. Everyone that came from the future is put in a position where they have to leave the Dharma Initiative.

I guess i’m droning on here, but the real meat is that Daniel Faraday is dead. It’s a recurring theme that anyone who dies on the island is dead, but they will some how be with the people in spirit. Yet again Richard Alpert looks the same as always, something omnious going on with him. I believe he is the island, but for some reason he’s not as informed, which makes me question my belief. Alpert seems to forget what happened in yesteryears and it’s beginning to annoy me.

Daniel explanation that they can all still die did allude to his death. But i like Hurley’s explanation better, because he really hit me stone cold in the head. Pierre Chang is another narrow minded character, who fails to believe that Miles is his son. This episode’s significance, in my opinion is Charlotte. In the previous life, Daniel told Charlotte never to return to the island, but in this life he’s telling her to leave the island on the submarine. After 30 years, it’s possible that Charlotte misinterpreted what she heard, or overtime she understood it that way. What exactly did Daniel change, if he and everyone else are variables?

For me, the whole idea of pushing the button to keep the radio-active material from going off, is ridiculous. The simple idea of a loop is the basics of C++, and with all their radio frequency stuff, i fail to understand why they didn’t make a computer to keep the radio-active material at bay. 1977, there not living in the stone-age, they still have relatively good technology.

Lostpedia asked the question why did Elloise meet Desmond, and i think it was to push the idea of ‘the variable’. Her presence was trying to give the viewers the idea that things can change, because the future-people are variables. Did we see change? No. The whole idea of Daniel travelling through time, and then end up dying in the past. The idea of ‘the variable’ simply didn’t exist, unless they actually change the past. So far throughout season 5 we’ve been seeing the prequels to subsiding events that are going to take place. Benjamin Linus’s character and the Dharma videos.

With the next episode of Lost we are continuing where we left off in the past, with La Fleur’s and Jack’s dire situation. 2 alter-egos trying to save their people, but it looks like Jack will be the hero. James has put himself in a tense situation, and he has jeopardized every one and is being held at gun point. Looking forward to a new episode of Lost.

The #1 scripted drama in television history put together by intelligent and witty minds. Lost is a delicate, and yet refreshing all at once. It’s a show that answers questions, but then also asks new ones. It’s the best 40 minutes of television, period. Lost unfortunately has the same timeslot as American Idol’s result show, so there is a loss of vieweres. But then again, Lost is for the older audience and those true to Lost, will watch it over American Idol.

What makes Lost work? I think it’s all about the Island. With the island the creator and writers could let their imagination run wild. With other shows and stories they have one idea and element and they run it for 7 or 8 seasons. But Lost is just complex in it’s nature, and yet we experience it in a simplistic way.

Even though there are so many characters, there controlled and each episode centers around one character or a group of them. I was afraid in Season 5 when they introduced new characters, the one’s who landed on the island. But now i’m excited, because these people are on the island with a purpose.

The central idea and goal from Seasons 1 to 4 was to get off the island. This propelled viewers to continue watching, and pondering as to how they were going to get off the island. The cast-aways at one point were making make-shift shanty homes and eating hunted boar. There standard of living increased in Season 2 with the discovery of the hatch as well as their random food supply deliveries. When they get off the island, they drop us a bomb shell by telling us they have to go back.

What really got me pumped up for Season 5 was The Fray’s unbelievable single ‘You Found Me’. When i first heard the song, it literally came in one ear, and left the other. But when i saw the cross-promotional music video with scenes from Lost i was blown away. I was instantly connected with the song, and every lyric. The song was on repeat, and even till this day on my playlist. The Fray did have a different interpretation, the song was supposedly about a guy talking to god.

My roomate is the one who introduced me to Lost. When he was volunteering some of his peers were talking about Lost religously, to the point he wanted to give it a try. I’ve over looked Lost for many years, i’ve seen screenshots and stuff in forums. But i’ve never seen commercials or even billboard signs about Lost until Season 5. When they were advertising the BluRay discs for Season 4. I started watching Lost in and around Fall of 09′, and i caught up around the holiday season. Seasons 1 and 2 i watched re-encoded HDTV captures. Seasons 3-4 i watched re-encoded BluRay encodes. Season 1 and 2 have been announced for BluRay, and maybe a few years down the road i might purchase them to relive Lost.

Another exciting episode of Lost this Wednesday. Last Wednesday ABC gave us an irritating recap, which i missed. It saved me 40 minutes of my life, but i might take a quick a look at it just incase if there’s something new.
