FlashForward – S01E08 – Rules of the Game

FlashForward – S01E08 – Rules of the Game

In an interview with Jimmy Kimmel, Dominic Monaghan (Simon) admitted that he is a “tease” in FlashForward. He is a high-profiled character with well known characters like Merry & Charlie. However, in this episode we see him loose a game of Texas Hold’em against Lloyd Simcoe. Now they both have to go public with what they know about the FlashForwards. As a result of Gough’s suicide, allot of people are changing their future and refuse to accept it. When Mark gifts Olivia with the lingerie she wore during her FlashForward, she ends up destroying it. The 3-star tatoo’d hit-men are abundant and ever more mysterious.

Al Gough has changed the rules, a disturbance in the time-space continuum. His suicide has created a butterfly effect, which will change the FlashForwards. Aaron Stark’s daughter Tracy is alive? So do the FlashForwards hold true? Is Benford’s board meaningless? The significance of the Blue Hand is that your either going to die today or tomorrow. But for those who had FlashForwards, they know they won’t die today until after April 29, 2010. Al Gough has rewritten his future allowing for deviation and change. The Lloyd-Olivia-Mark triangle may never start. (more…)

FlashForward – S01E06 – Scary Monsters and Super Creeps

Lloyd Simcoe, “Our experiment killed 20 million people, Simon. What more is there to say?”. Finally we see more of Dominic Monaghan! A different monster from Merry the Hobbit and Charlie the Rock Star. Both Lloyd and Simon had FlashForwards, but they are the scientists behind the blackout. Simcoe appears to be strangling someone, and enjoying it. Katy Perry, “I killed a man and I liked it”. Mark sees the masks of the people who hunt him down in his FlashForward. Demetri follows the bleeding blue trail. (more…)

FlashForward – S01E05 – Gimme Some Truth

We learn that in Somalia they had these large towers placed in the region prior to their blackout. The significance? We don’t know. Janis Hawk is actually homosexual, but because her FlashForward depicts her getting an ultrasound; does this infer she had artificial insemination. Could she have dreamt the whole thing like Demetri’s fiancé?

“We need to talk … But talking to me is just one of those little inconveniences, that you’re going to have to put up with now that we’re responsible for the single greatest disaster in human history.” – Simon. Lloyd Simcoe’s involvement in the blackout doesn’t make sense. Because he himself experienced the FlashForward, and if he knew of the blackout why wasn’t he able to save his wife? protect his son? The significance of this episode is that the blackout has happened before. It happened in October 1991 @ the Southern Ganwar region of Somalia. The Doctors traveled to the area in response to claims that the inhabitants suffered mass loss of consciousness. The last scene in this episode just shows a barely visible cloud in the sky moving. Is the boy just simply looking at the sky? Marat Gaziev posted what he believes is the connection between the crows and the blackout. In North America we know that the humans and crows are affected by the West Nile Virus. West Nile Virus has many symptoms one of which is the West Nile Meningitis. “This causes an inflammation of the protective membrane covering the brain and is most often associated with symptoms such as confusion and altered consciousness.(more…)

D. Gibson went from a note on the wall to being involved in the blackout. He had made a phone call 30 seconds into the blackout to Subject-Zero at the baseball stadium. We still don’t fully understand why the blackouts happened, how the FlashForwards occurred. Charlie Benford must have not only seen D. Gibson, but she might have been kidnapped along with Dhillon Simcoe. But why were Lloyd and Olivia together why their children were in harms way. Demetri’s non-existent FlashForward had a reasoning behind it. He recieved a phone call from a women who said he’s going to be murdered on March 15th, 2010. (more…)

This was one of the best pilots i’ve ever seen. A breathtaking way to start this refreshing new series. Just like how Fringe is the new X-Files, FlashForward is the new Lost. The difference is more in style and direction, having the same supernatural unexplainable phenomena. My posts have always been somewhat of a spoiler, but the last few minutes of the show were cliffhanger endings. When everyone blacked out, there was one person walking through the stadium. He or She was unaffected, and wore a long dark jacket. The surveillance video only shows in black and white and has very little resolution and clarity. The dots start connecting because Mark Benford seems to have seen these individuals during his FlashForward. (more…)
