uTorrent is no longer the best torrent client; that position is heralded to rTorrent. For sometime it didn’t have a webgui and now it does with wTorrent. This diabolical duo has proven to be very lightweight and packs a powerhouse punch in performance. If you ask any 0day uploader and high-end trackers like: FTN, ScT, SCC or even HDBits they are using rTorrent + wTorrent. Unfortunately the client is linux based so PC & Mac users can’t take advantage.

uTorrent 2.0 Beta (Build 16126)

If your currently being throttled by your internet service provider you should have already moved to uTorrent’s uTP supported clients. They have finally moved out of Alpha and are now in Beta with uTorrent 2.0 (Build 16126). With the previous build i had problems setting a maximum upload speed. Allot of trackers have already banned the previous builds.

Infamous Internet Service Providers like Bell Sympatico, Cox, Sympatico are using traffic shaping to curve peer-to-peer communications which popularly uses TCP.

uTorrent 1.9 Beta which can be downloaded here uses uTP instead of TCP.

Peer-to-peer communications have traditionally used TCP whereby ISPs can quite easily “see” what type of traffic is being forwarded. While still in its early stages of development, µTorrent v1.9 includes uTP. uTP is an entirely different protocol (transport layer) than TCP that doesn’t require handshaking, and is thus much harder – if not impossible – to throttle.

New Domain + Hosting ?

I’m very happy with blog, and i’m going to take it to the next level. I’m going to start experimenting with the CSS theme. I feel as though, my hands are tied up with WordPress.com, and pushing to WordPress.org might alleviate the pain.

I’ve purchased a domain ‘ihide.in‘ from GoDaddy. I’ve purchased over 10 domains from Namecheap in the past, not because they were cheap but because they worked. The IN domains which is an Indian domain name is expensive. Even at their central websites the minimum is $20USD. At Namecheap they had a similar price, GoDaddy had a special for $5.99USD. $14USD isn’t allot of money per year, but it’s  a tremendous saving, and at the end of the day it’s just a domain.

iHiDE.iN, when you seperate it it spells ‘ i hide in‘. This website is just that, it’s my inter-who getaway, where i can write my thoughts and speak my mind.
