Knowing

Very Impressive ending. That’s all i have to say, the film moved very slowly and dreary. I looked at the film in the sense that, if you knew of events that are going to happen; you would be responsible for the event. If you show knowledge of the event you would be conspiring to execute it. It’s a very mixed bag, even if your in a controlled environment your word wouldn’t go far. We had a plane & train wreck, which were the preceding events. The final solar flare was somewhat cool, and the family’s acceptance.

Angels and Demons
.
.
Yawn… It was a cat and mouse chase with an over-the-top musical score. The script is riddled with clichés, and it appears that Ron Howard kept it too close to the novel rather than for an adapted screenplay. I respect Tom Hanks, but this is definitely not one of his better films. Ron Howard has exhausted the franchise, and it has come to a bitter end. The lighting scenes were extremely annoying because we were constantly reminded the lights go ON and OFF. It was very predictable screenplay, even for a viewer who hasn’t read Angels and Demons. The highlights of the film is probably when Camerlengo Patrick McKenna a.k.a. Obi-Wan Kenobi tells the College of Cardinals that the church killed men of science. I mean, for the men who have been killed several centuries ago; how can the Illuminati hold the present church responsible. I think that Atheist and Academics make the Vatican look like narrow-minded fools.

Twilight sweep @ MTV Movie Awards 09′
.
.
No need to go any further, Twilight sweeped all the prizes. The entire show was scripted, lip synced almost film-like. Robert Patinson alluded that he was going to have to go up more times throughout the night. Other notable recipients were: Heath Ledger, Zac Efron, Miley Cyrus & Jim Carrey. I’m currently watching the film while writing this post, and to be honest there is not much substance 60 minutes into the film. I haven’t read the book myself, although a friend said he just couldn’t get that far. It was much more narrative, and it’s not easy to connect with the book. The fans have really overwhelmed the MTV voting pool. If this were any critically acclaimed award shows the result show.

The International
.
.
The worst film of 2009. I can’t believe i actually wanted to see this film in theaters. The trailer for this film is better than the actual film. The film didn’t have closure, so for the love of god i really hope they don’t make a sequel. I’m a moderate fan of Clive Owen, he’s had great films in the past: Children of Men, Inside Man. He’s also had his share of poor films like: Shoot Em Up. Although i wouldn’t even say that film was poor.
Going back to the film. It’s not even an espionage, it’s a cliche ridden script. I’m pretty sure the director isn’t too happy with this film. There’s no emotion, no connection, it’s just pathetic. There’s no evil, there’s no good, it’s just very bland acting.
Please don’t waste your time watching this film. There is nothing to see here, the action scenes are a huge snooze. It’s not even a crime-drama either.
Valkyrie
.
.
A decent Tom Cruise film. I don’t have much to talk about for this film. The highlights were two events which were when the reserve army were called for duty. The reaction of the General was hysterical, “if this were Rome you would have been killed, but thank god we are civilized”. Honestly that’s the best bit of this film, the rest was robotic and lacked plot and story. What i did like about the film was that there were people in Germany who were against Hitler’s rule. Allot of people were enclosed with the sworn oath for Hitler. There was no suspense, no adrenaline, just a few minutes of humor. I waited for the BluRay to watch this film, although i almost saw it in theaters. I’d avoid watching this film, there is absolutely zero substance.
MTV Movie Awards 2009 Picks
.
.
MTV Movie Awards 09′ are being presented this Sunday May 31st! I don’t have MTV, so i’ll be waiting for the HD capture to watch it. I really enjoyed last year’s award show. Although the shameless advertisement for ‘The Love Guru’ was a bit too much for me. Allot of nominations for Slumdog Millionaire, The Dark Knight & Twilight this year. It will be an interesting show down because, the MTV movie awards are fan based. Although the critics may have loved Slumdog, we’ll find out of the public loved it too. Last year allot of the wins weren’t critically acclaimed wins: Transformers, I Am Legend, Pirates of the Caribbean: Worlds End. Basically kick-ass films get Best Picture, and not well-scripted masterclass films.
I personally think that Twilight and The Dark Knight will steal the show. I’ve posted my picks, based on performances. I’ve bolded the movies, scenes and songs that i’ve seen. My picks are somewhat biased.

X-Men Origins: Wolverine
.
.
So i was forced to watch the film with a few of my friends. I had no expectations for the film as a result of it’s 37% rating at Rotten Tomatoes. I walk in and the film starts with a cliche-ridden script. X-Men’s franchise has hyped X-Men’s origins, we’ve been left in the dark as to how, we could connect the random fragments of his past. The CGI in this film is absolutely pathetic. It looks as if Slumdog had a bigger budget than X-Men. I can’t believe Marvel approved of this, comparing the CGI to Ironman or even the Hulk, it’s horrendous.
We get introduced to wolverine’s tree-branch claws, and then we learn he gets a metallic alloy injected into him. So that’s where we get the shiny nice claws, but the CGI is so garbage. I mean i think they should have asked Stephen Spielberg to produce this film, because it was really really bad. I was surprised that Will.I.Am was in the cast, and he made the film worse.

Kingdom of Heaven
Kingdom of Heaven (2005)
Version: Director’s Cut
Director: Ridley Scott
Cast: Orlando Bloom, Edward Norton, Liam Neeson, David Thewlis, Brendan Gleeson, Eva Green.
Overlooked this film for 4 years now, and i finally decided to give it a try. I’m not a big fan of Ridley Scott, his other films: Gladiator, Body of Lies & American Gangster disappointed.
