The Hurt Locker

The Hurt Locker

Overrated film, i didn’t like Jeremy Renner’s character, “SFC William James”. Maybe because he was so different? So dedicated in his suicide work, that he believes will save lives. Playing fps games like Call Of Duty using the Berret you don’t appreciate it’s aim and extensive recoil. 21st century warfare especially in the sands of Iraq and Afghanistan is much more different than WWI & WWII. The guerrilla and mystic enemy is radicalized into inhumane monsters, who’s ends have little just.

Hot Fuzz

Hot Fuzz

I was hesitant to watch the film because of the mindlessness of Shaun of the Dead; but the creators have put some sense into this film. The film does have the X Factor, in the sense that it’s plot twists and musical scores are abrupt and surprising. It’s full of action, and tons of watch! There are however very little “laughs”, it draws on much more serious tone. If you’ve got 120 minutes to burn, burning it with Hot Fuzz might cool you down.

Avatar

Avatar

3D Experience was breathtaking to say the least, James Cameron has set new benchmarks in movie-making. I understand why people aren’t happy with the story because it mirrors ‘Pocahontas’. PhillyD said it related to Tom Cruise’s, ‘Last Samurai’ which yes … you could say it does. Yes, it was predictable but Cameron wasn’t going for a twisted story plot, moreover he was going archetypal to solidify Avatar as a classic.

Inglourious Basterds

Inglourious Basterds

Tarantino’s vision of how WWII ended is nothing short of epic. The highlights of the film are when & how the Basterds execute the Nazis. Brad Pitt as Lt. Aldo Raine was the ultimate bad-ass character. He showed no mercy to Nazi prisoners, and only affiliated himself with only a handful of trusted Jewish American men. WWII basically ends with Adolf Hitler and his Third Reich getting blown up in a movie theater. Allot of people died making it happen, so it wasn’t necessarily a “happily ever after”, but it was bad-ass nevertheless.

9

9

It’s an enjoyable film, who’s central story has been done several times. One could argue that Lord of The Rings influenced the script in several ways. Interestingly Elijah Wood does the voice over for 9, which almost solidifies it. It’s a story of life after humans, and their struggle against the machines even after were gone. Intelligence transferred to an inanimate objects through means of dark magic. The fact that they have emotions is unbelievable. It’s a nice story, but a little bit more originality would have helped. The trailer in my opinion was more epic because of Cohen’s track.

Terminator Salvation

Terminator Salvation

I found the film to be thoroughly enjoyable. There’s only one WTF moment, where Marcus sees his cyborg body, but this was ruined in the trailer for the film. It was a popcorn blockbuster summer film, and it had an amazing cast to boot. I’m a Christian Bale fanboi, i love his work and what he brings to his films. Common was the worst thing that happen to this film. He can’t act for his life, reminded me of Will.I.Am in X-Men Origins. His opening scene where he asks if his brother is dead, is so unemotional and bland. I gritted my teeth everytime he spoke.
